Even though there was a threat of thundershowers most of the day Geneviève and Nick’s wedding was wonderful! When we arrived at the guys getting ready spot a storm was rolling in so we had a few short minutes to get some great photos of them on the dock toasting a scotch and enjoying a cigar. Then the first downpour of the day began but not to worry we used our time wisely and then we were off to see the ladies.
Geneviève’s dress suited her so well, it was beautiful and elegant and also had pockets – every dress should have pockets! Her wedding jewellery belonged to Nick’s mom, it was perfect and was such a special way to honour her.
The ceremony was sweet and emotional as Nick and Geneviève shared their vows that they wrote for one another. The rain held off and they were able to have a beautiful ceremony outside. After dinner the wedding party decided to surprise the bride and groom with a synchronized dance of Uptown Funk and even included the guests in the surprise, it was so much fun!
When we snuck out for “golden hour” some dark clouds had rolled in so while we didn’t get a golden hour but we still had a beautiful dark cloudy backdrop. We did eventually get that rain that had threatened the ceremony and boy did it rain, it was so loud that is almost drowned out the first dance music but it didn’t last and the party went on!
