Melanie & Tom tied the knot on August 17th at the beautiful Kelly Hill Farm. I have been looking forward to this sweet couple’s wedding date since I first met with them last year. On the day of the wedding, there was a lot of excitement in the air and preparations were in full swing when we arrived at the groom’s parents house. After Tom was wedding-ready his mom asked if he would play a song on the piano, he is an excellent piano player and this is something he would often do when arriving home from school, it was such a sweet moment as his mom sat with him and listened to him play.
When we arrived at the bride’s getting ready location they were finishing up hair and makeup and everyone was looking amazing! Before getting into their dresses the girls stepped outside to pop some champagne and toast the bride to be. When it was time to get into her dress Melanie told me her mom was actually going to have to sew her into her dress because of a loose clasp, not something you hear every day but definitely an effective way to keep the dress together! Melanie’s dress was perfect for her and she looked absolutely stunning!
Melanie and Tom had planned for an outdoor ceremony but when we arrived at the venue it began to rain so it was decided to push the ceremony for a few minutes because it looked like it might clear off. The rain stopped and guests were seated and as the processional started so did the rain. It didn’t pour so the ceremony went on. The little wet droplets definitely did not dampen the joy that was felt when Melanie and Tom made it official, their faces, as they walked back down the aisle, said it all! This was my first rainy outdoor ceremony and there was something a little extra romantic about it.
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Bird it was truly an honour to document your day!
